Mutation types

Select the type of globin chain affected by the mutation. For a large mutation, select globin chain hybrids. Select thalassemia for thalassemias regardless of the chain affected

Migration zones

Select one or more zones showing an abnormal hemoglobin variant peak. Your choice is not cumulative, meaning that if you select Z1 and Z(D), profiles with a peak in Z1 AND profiles with a peak in Z(D) AND profiles with peaks in Z1 and Z(D) will be displayed.
For profiles without zones, select No zone.

Migration position

Edit a number between 1 and 300 to search for a variant at that migration point on the x-axis of the Capillary Electrophoresis profile. The search results will display profiles at the searched position, within +/- 3 points, to include a short list of potential nearby hemoglobin variants and not just the targeted one.

For example, for a searched migration position of 214 points, profiles with a fraction migrating to a position between 211 and 217 points will be displayed. Profiles without zones cannot be displayed with this criterion.

Sickle Cell Disease

Choose Affected to select specific profiles of hemoglobin variant associated with Hb S that cause Sickle Cell syndrome, as well as Non-S Sickling variants.
Choose Not Affected to exclude variants or combinations of variants that cause Sickle Cell syndrome.

Select New Case to limit the search to variants recently integrated into the Atlas.
